A Warm Welcome to Our Country Getaway

Van Zyls Vlei has been a pleasant place for tourists to get away from it all in the Karoo for many years. Our bed & breakfast started out as a modest farmhouse, but it has grown into a popular stop along the N1 noted for its warm hospitality and rustic charm. Annelie and Deon Dohne, our hosts, have recently made some careful changes to the property to make it better for our visitors while keeping the original farm feel that makes us special.

Rondawels with Thatched Roofs and Family Rooms

Our unique thatched rondawels provide you a special holiday feel by combining traditional architecture with contemporary conveniences. Each has its own bathroom and nice extras like tea and coffee making facilities. The round shape makes it a great place to relax after a long day of travel.

Lots of Room for Families

We provide family rondawels with plenty of room and two-bedroom family rooms for those travelling with children or in groups.

All of them have the same high level of comfort and have their own bathrooms.

We are especially good for independent travellers since we have:

Don’t miss our famous Karoo lamb meals in the evenings – they are a speciality that shows off the flavours of the area. Our friendly bar is the ideal place to relax with a drink and talk about your travels with other guests.
