Garingboom Guest Farm is a quiet getaway owned by Jan and Riette Griesel. It is located on a historic farm that dates back to 1880. This eco-friendly sheep farm is in the southern Free State and makes a peaceful midway point for those travelling between Gauteng, the Cape, and the coast. The old farmhouse is still there, showing off the farm’s rich history by combining rustic beauty with contemporary comfort.

Our five cosy cottages are a great place for visitors to rest in beautiful countryside. They are completely furnished and comfortable. You may choose between two single-room cottages or three large two-bedroom cottages. All of them include contemporary luxuries including air conditioning, a fridge, and covered parking. Each cottage has its own braai area, which is great for having a typical South African cookout outside.

Whether you choose our Bed & Breakfast or Bed Only prices, you’ll feel at home here, whether you’re travelling with your family, as a couple, or alone. Garingboom is a great place for a family vacation since kids under 12 receive a discount on their stay. After a day of exploring, relax in your cottage and enjoy the peace and quiet of the Karoo.

Guests are welcome to walk about the 2500ha property, which has beautiful pathways that weave through rolling hills and rich flora.
