About Us
Wolfkop Nature Reserve is 450 hectares big and is located at the base of the Cederberg mountain range. It was created as a place for people who love nature to go. The reserve started as a way to protect South Africa’s wild beauty, but it has grown into a safe place to stay and have fun outdoors. Over the years, we have carefully chosen nine distinct residences that fit perfectly with the nature and provide contemporary amenities.
Places to Stay in the Wolfkop Nature Reserve
Private Getaways in the Mountains
Our place to stay has a rustic charm and smart design. Pick from:
- Tolbos Cottage: A cosy place to get away from it all with great views of the valley. Perfect for couples.
- Rooibos House: A fancy place for small parties with a wood-fired hot tub and private veranda.
- Houses that are good for families: They have big rooms with covered braai areas and plunge pools.
Each hideaway is in a private spot, with rough stone, wood, and big windows framing the wild environment. Expect soft beds, fires inside, and showers outside in the open air.
One-of-a-Kind Features
A few homes have:
- Private hot baths that get their water from natural springs.
- Amenities that run on solar power for eco-friendly stays.
- You may walk right from your front door.
Food and Health
Experiences from Farm to Table
Our kitchens are fully stocked for self-catering, but the Citrusdal Valley has some of the best sampling around. You can have local wines and spirits at De Tol or Piekenierskloof, or you may have a craft beer at Nieuw Brew, which is close by.
Rejuvenation in Nature
Relax in your own hot tub or go for a peaceful walk. Even though we don’t have a real spa, the reserve itself, with its rock pools and starry sky, is a great place to rest.
Facilities and Services
- Swimming and plunge pools (certain properties).
- Braai places with roofs and views of the mountains.
- Free Wi-Fi in shared areas (disconnection is recommended).
- Safe parking and charging stations powered by solar energy.
Where It Is and How Long It Will Last
Wolfkop is a great place to start your journey to the Cederberg’s attractions. It’s just 20 minutes from the Stadsaal Caves and the Citrus Creek Horse Trails. We believe in tourism that doesn’t hurt the environment, thus we use solar power and help local conservation groups.
Wolfkop provides a real getaway to the untamed heart of South Africa, whether you ride a horse through fynbos or look at the stars from your balcony.
