About Us
Natte Valleij’s Brief History
Natte Valleij is one of the Cape Winelands’ most famous estates, having a history that goes back to 1715. The property was first given to ex-soldier Jurgiaan Hanekom, and throughout the years it became a part of the winemaking legacy. The Milner family bought the property in 1969 and brought back its history as a vineyard in 1992, after it had been a thoroughbred stud for a while. Alexander Milner, known as the “Cinsault Whisperer,” makes award-winning wines today while keeping the farm’s real rustic character.
Natte Valleij Cottages
Our farm cottages with kitchens are a peaceful place to stay in the middle of vineyards and mountains. The Vineyard Cottage is big enough for six people to sleep comfortably, making it great for families or parties. The Cellar Cottage is smaller and perfect for couples. Both have the classic Cape Dutch style and contemporary amenities, including fully equipped kitchens and private outdoor areas with views of horse paddocks or gardens.
Policies that allow pets make sure that no one is left behind, and features like fireplaces and steep stoeps make country life more relaxing. The shared swimming pool and tennis court give people more things to do, and the 300-year-old wine cellar shows how important the farm has been throughout the years.
Weddings at Natte Valleij
Our old wine cellars make for a beautiful wedding venue, with room for up to 140 people under original yellowwood beams and reed ceilings. Couples say their vows under old trees in the beautiful gardens, with the Simonsberg mountains in the background. You can have personalised celebrations because the catering choices are flexible and there are no corkage fees for bringing your own wines.
