Saxe-Coburg Lodge

Saxe-Coburg Lodge is a lovely Victorian-era guesthouse on Church Street in the beautiful hamlet of Prince Albert, Western Cape. Dick, Regina, and Carmen Billiet own and run it. Our historic house dates back to 1853 and combines old-world charm with contemporary conveniences, including a solar-powered system that keeps guests comfortable during loadshedding. The lodge’s traditional appearance hides an oasis of well-kept gardens and quiet outdoor areas, making it a lovely place for visitors to relax in the Karoo.

Saxe-Coburg Lodge: Luxurious Accommodation

Our five tastefully decorated garden bedrooms are comfortable and attractive places to stay. Each room has its own bathroom, modern amenities, and views of the Swartberg Mountains.

The Medway Room

This comfortable room has a standard double bed with pure cotton linen and an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. Guests may relax on their own patio and enjoy views of the garden, along with amenities including air-conditioning and a flat-screen TV.

The Victoria Room

This opulent room features a handmade four-poster bed and a Victorian slipper bath, making it feel like royalty. The 26-square-metre space includes a sitting area and a covered terrace for the best relaxation.

The Albert Room

The corner room is bright and spacious, with twin beds that can be converted into a double and a large walk-in shower. The private terrace is the perfect place to soak up the Karoo sunshine.

The Pool Suite

This suite is ideal for longer stays, featuring a separate lounge and small kitchenette, a king-size bed, and a spacious terrace perfect for sunset viewing.

The Pool Room

This room is closest to our sparkling swimming pool and can be configured with twin or double beds, offering direct access to the pool area.

Dining and Relaxation

A delicious breakfast is available on request to start your day. While we don’t have a restaurant on-site, our central location means you’re within easy walking distance of Prince Albert’s excellent eateries and cafes.

Guests can enjoy our refreshing swimming pool set within beautiful gardens. All rooms include air-conditioning, electric blankets, and complimentary toiletries for your comfort.
