About Us
Spionkop Lodge – Celebrating 125 Years of Heritage
Founded in 1998 by Raymond and Lynette Heron, Spionkop Lodge stands as a vibrant homage to the rich tapestry of South Africa’s history. The lodge is situated on the historic grounds of Woodlands Farm, which served as the headquarters for General Sir Redvers Buller during the Anglo-Boer War.
Inspired by the legendary “Spion Kop” hill—translated as “Spy or Lookout Hill”—the lodge pays tribute to the courage of those who battled in the 1900 Battle of Spionkop, a significant chapter in South African history.
