Hartford House in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, has been around since 1870 and is a symbol of elegance and history. The Moor family built the estate, which has seen important events like the Anglo-Boer War and entertaining British royalty. Today, it combines its rich history with contemporary elegance. The Executive Moor Suite
This suite is in the old manor home and has a king bed, a marble bath, a fireplace, and a private terrace. It celebrates the Moor family. Heated towel rails, DSTV, and air conditioning are among the modern conveniences that make your stay comfortable while still being steeped in history.
Family Igugu Suite
The 194m sqaure suite is great for families since it has two bedrooms with twin or king beds and a big living area. Named after the famous filly Igugu, it has underfloor heating, a tea station, and a view of a private garden, making it both useful and beautiful.
Suites with a garden and pool
These suites are set amid award-winning gardens and include king beds, fireplaces, and private patios. You may choose between Alyssum, Heliotrope, Emanzini, or Emtonjeni. Each one has a historic feel but also modern luxuries like Wi-Fi and warm towel rails.
Suites of Heritage
These luxurious rooms include king beds, underfloor heating, and private patios. They are connected to the Veranda Suites. They are named after Capital Stud’s stallions and are very fancy, with features like minibars, hairdryers, and custom bathroom items.
Suites by the Lake
These suites are set around a peaceful lake and have their own splash pools, fireplaces, and sitting spaces. Mbulelo, Inkanyezi, and Siyabonga show off local craftsmanship and have DSTV, air conditioning, and great views.
Suites with a Veranda
These suites used to be stables for carriage horses. Now they include twin-to-king beds, underfloor heating, and patios. Named for famous racehorses, they combine tradition with modern comforts like Wi-Fi and turndown service.
Dining at Hartford House
The Manor House Restaurant is one of the top 20 restaurants in South Africa. It offers seasonal tasting menus in a candlelit dining hall or on a balcony that looks out over the garden. The Tuinhuis is a beautiful stone-and-glass building where you can have a relaxing meal with artisanal cuisine made with local ingredients.
