About Us
Manyore Farmstead Story
Founded in 2022 by Washington Nyabeze and Marieke de Groen, Manyore Farmstead is a labour of love aimed at regenerating land, promoting biodiversity, and creating opportunities for learning and inspiration. Our name honours Manyore Mountain in Zimbabwe, reflecting our commitment to African permaculture traditions.
Manyore Farmstead offers a distinctive farmstay experience, located in the scenic Magaliesburg area. Our working farm provides a peaceful retreat where guests can reconnect with nature, enjoy the outdoors, and experience a slice of authentic farm life.

Facilities and Amenities
The farmhouse includes a spacious lounge with a fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, three bathrooms, Wi-Fi, and an alarm system. Guests can enjoy Egyptian cotton bedding, use of a washing machine and dishwasher during sunny hours, and access to books, board games, and outdoor balls.
Art enthusiasts will appreciate the pop-up gallery featuring works by Sidney Nyabeze, with original African artworks in each bedroom.
Sustainability and Energy
Manyore Farmstead prioritises sustainability with solar energy for most electricity needs, a solar water heater, and Eskom backup for reliability. We encourage climate-neutral stays, and farm produce may be available for purchase or harvesting.
Special Offers and Opportunities
NGOs focusing on “thinking time” or biomimicry may qualify for discounted rates. We also welcome skilled volunteers interested in contributing to our permaculture journey.
Location and Access
Manyore Farmstead is easily accessible via tar roads, with a concrete track on the farm suitable for small cars. Public transport stops within 500 metres of the farm gate. Please note that farm life includes encounters with vervet monkeys and early morning wake-up calls from our chickens!
