Swartberg Country Manor is a historic hideaway in the heart of Oudtshoorn that combines contemporary luxury with a rich history. The Main House

Eleven modern rooms with views of the Swartberg mountains from all sides. The open salon frames the stunning scenery. Perfect for those who want peace and quiet with a little bit of class.

The Historical House

Four beautiful apartments look out over a fig orchard that has been there for a hundred years, combining old-world beauty with contemporary amenities. Great for anyone who love history.

Cottages in the Karoo Style

Each cottage has three separate rooms with individual verandas that look out over the mountains and let you rest completely. The Honeymoon Suite adds a private wooden balcony to a vintage-style sanctuary.

Eating at Patat Restaurant

Our restaurant on the property serves South African dishes made with fresh, locally grown ingredients. Every day, you may have a full breakfast or a three-course meal made by Head Chef Lene. For something different, plan a gourmet picnic on the lawns with some of the best local wines.

Swartberg Country Manor Amenities

Visitors may roam around the property, hire mountain bikes, or look up at the stars beneath the Karoo sky. The estate is also a great place to have a wedding, with ceremonies for 20 to 120 people in beautiful gardens or a mediaeval church.

The Klein Karoo is full with adventure, from the Cango Caves to the Swartberg Pass, which is right outside our doors. If you want to take things easy, you may go to neighbouring distilleries for tastings or just relax with a picnic made with local produce.
