Pennygum Country Cottages is in the friendly agricultural village of Underberg. It is a pleasant place to stay in the beautiful Southern Drakensberg. Our cottages are the right mix of comfort, charm, and adventure, making them great for romantic getaways, family holidays, or group trips.

Pennygum Country Cottages Accommodation

Each of our cottages is carefully constructed to provide you a one-of-a-kind experience that combines rustic beauty with contemporary amenities. They are named for the mountains around them and provide stunning vistas and a peaceful ambiance.

Hlogoma Cottage

This lovely home with a thatched roof is great for couples who want to escape for a romantic weekend. There is a main bedroom, an open-plan kitchen and living area with a fireplace, and a wonderful corner bath. The modest patio has great views of the mountains and a place to sit outside with a braai.

Sangwana Cottage

Sangwana Cottage has a rustic feel and is great for small families. Larger parties may also rent it alongside Mvuleni Cottage. There are two main bedrooms with their own bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen, and a comfortable living area. The terrace looks out over the mountain range and apple orchards.

Mvuleni Cottage

Mvuleni Cottage is a great place for families or groups since it is spacious and welcoming. It has three well-furnished bedrooms, a large kitchen, a dining area, and a living room with an open fireplace. The wide veranda has outdoor seating and panoramic mountain views.

Siphongweni Cottage

Siphongweni is our biggest cottage, with two bedrooms downstairs and a loft above, so it can easily accommodate larger parties. The fireplace and the open kitchen, living room, and dining area make the space feel cosy. Outside, there is a large veranda with braai facilities and covered lounging areas that complete the experience.

Facilities & Amenities

Guests get free Wi-Fi (ask for the password), secure parking, and complimentary firewood for the first bag. Daily housekeeping ensures a comfortable stay so you can fully relax.
