About Parys

Parys is a picturesque town located in the Free State‘s Vredefort Dome area, approximately 120km south of Johannesburg. Situated on the banks of the Vaal River, this charming destination is named after Paris, France, and has developed into a creative hub with galleries, antique shops and boutique stores. The surrounding landscape features rocky outcrops and riverine forests, forming part of the Vredefort Dome UNESCO World Heritage Site – the world’s largest meteorite impact structure.

Positioned along the R59 route, Parys enjoys a temperate Highveld climate with warm summers and cool winters.
