About Us
River House Lodge was built in the 1990s and is a perfect mix of heritage and contemporary luxury. It is located on the banks of the Crocodile River, very next to Kruger National Park, and is a great place to retreat. Our lodge survived the big flood of 2000 and is now a tribute to strength and beauty. It has antiques, Africana relics, and unique art that take visitors back in time while yet giving modern conveniences.
Lodging at River House Lodge
Each of our boutique lodge’s en-suite rooms is distinctive and has its own tale to tell. Every accommodation has a mix of contemporary conveniences and old-world charm, whether you pick a cosy double room with a private balcony, a well-appointed twin room, or a large family suite for group trips. Wake up to the sounds of the bushveld, sip your coffee on your own balcony, and take in the peace and quiet of South Africa’s untamed areas.
The lodge’s famous veranda looks out over the Crocodile River, where elephants, hippos, and crocodiles swim freely. This is a great place to watch the sun set. Our rooms and common areas, such a cosy lounge with historical accents, are designed for relaxation and will help you feel better.
Eating and relaxing at River House Lodge
Have a big breakfast on our veranda that faces the river, then enjoy South African-style dinners in a calm bushveld environment. Relax by the pool as animals come to the river, or have a drink at our lovely bar. Every minute here is a chance to calm down and get back in touch.
