About Mbombela

Mbombela (formerly Nelspruit) is the capital city of Mpumalanga province, located in the fertile Crocodile River Valley approximately 330km east of Johannesburg. Situated at the heart of South Africa’s Lowveld region, this thriving urban centre enjoys a subtropical climate with hot summers and mild winters.

Mbombela’s strategic position near the Mozambique and Eswatini borders makes it an important commercial hub for the region. Mbombela’s landscape features lush vegetation, with numerous citrus orchards and tropical plants thriving in the warm climate. The surrounding area offers dramatic views of the Drakensberg escarpment, while the Crocodile and Nels rivers provide scenic beauty within the city itself.
