About White River

White River is a thriving town located in Mpumalanga‘s Lowveld region, approximately 25km west of Mbombela. Situated at the edge of the escarpment at 980m above sea level, this garden town enjoys a subtropical climate and lush vegetation, serving as the perfect base for exploring the Kruger National Park.

The area experiences warm summers and mild winters, with higher rainfall than surrounding Lowveld regions. White River’s landscape features beautiful indigenous gardens, citrus orchards and the White River itself, which flows through the town. The town’s elevated position provides cooler temperatures than the nearby Lowveld while offering easy access to major tourist attractions.
