About Us

Taunton House is a well-known Three Star Bed & Breakfast in the popular Wembley district of Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. We have won several awards for our high quality, including the 2019 Best Establishment in Wembley and being a finalist for Tsogo Sun’s Book-A-Guesthouse of the Year 2013. Our beautiful environment, with birds and a calm stream all around, is a great place to get away from it all while still being close to important sights.

Our five en-suite bedrooms are a mix of contemporary comfort and thoughtful details. There is air conditioning, a TV with DStv, and a desk in every room, so you can rest and get things done. Three rooms have their own entrances, which makes them more convenient and secure. Taunton House will meet your needs whether you want a standard stay or the option to cook your own meals.

Guests get a full breakfast included in their stay, and they may also order lunch and supper if they like. We take pride in serving meals that are Halaal-compliant, so Muslim travellers may feel safe. The balcony and garden areas are peaceful places to relax, and they offer beautiful views of the property’s natural splendour.
