Lake Grappa Guest Farm is a family-run getaway in Kakamas that offers a unique mix of excitement and peace in the middle of the Green Kalahari. The Visser family started the property in 2007 because GJ Visser loved water skiing. They made their dream come true by transporting more than 110,000 cubic metres of gravel and 8,000 cubic metres of stone to create a stunning 700m x 75m man-made lake. Lake Grappa is a great place for anyone who enjoys nature, water activities, or just wants to get away from it all.

Our high-end self-catering chalets are the right mix of luxury and solitude. You can choose between one- and two-bedroom chalets, each with a fully equipped kitchen, a large living room, and a place to braai inside and outside. You can wake up to beautiful views of the lake, clean white linens and high-end bathroom amenities. We provide spacious B&B rooms with DSTV, air conditioning, and everything else you need for a relaxing stay for business travellers.

Every chalet is built to enable visitors to fully enjoy the Kalahari’s natural beauty. Each one has its own stoep (veranda) where guests can relax with a glass of local wine as the sun sets over the water. Our outdoor oven makes fresh wood-fired pizzas. The bar is the best place to watch the sunset since it has a calm atmosphere that lets you appreciate the peaceful surroundings.

Things to Do and See at Lake Grappa

The farm’s main attraction is its big lake, which is great for slalom skiing, canoeing, and fishing. People who want to have an adventure can go see the Augrabies Falls or go on 4×4 and mountain bike trails. Guests can pick their own export-quality table grapes at Vroee Son farm (with advance notice) for a more laid-back experience. The lake is a beautiful background for special events at our venue, such as weddings and conferences.
