About Victoria West

Victoria West is a historic Karoo town located in the central Northern Cape, approximately 280km northeast of Kimberley. Situated along the important N12 national route between Johannesburg and Cape Town, this rural settlement was established in 1843 as a vital stopover for travelers and livestock farmers.

The area experiences typical semi-arid Karoo climate with hot summers and cold winters. Victoria West’s landscape features wide open plains, rocky outcrops and characteristic Karoo vegetation. The town’s strategic position along major transport routes continues to make it an important service centre for the surrounding farming communities.
