About Roodepoort

Roodepoort is located in Gauteng‘s West Rand region, approximately 20km west of Johannesburg’s city centre. This sprawling suburban area sits at an elevation of 1,740 metres on the Highveld plateau, featuring a mix of residential neighbourhoods, commercial centres and green spaces typical of Johannesburg’s western suburbs.

Developed after gold was discovered in 1884, Roodepoort has grown into one of Johannesburg’s largest suburban districts. Roodepoort’s strategic position along major routes including the N1 and M5 highways provides easy access to both Johannesburg and Pretoria while maintaining its distinct local character.
