About Middelburg

Middelburg is a thriving industrial town located in Mpumalanga‘s Highveld region, approximately 130km east of Pretoria. Situated at an elevation of 1,500 metres on the banks of the Klein Olifants River, this important economic centre combines urban development with expansive views of the surrounding grasslands. The town serves as a strategic junction between Gauteng and Mpumalanga’s eastern regions, with major transport routes including the N4 highway passing through the area.

The area around Middelburg features typical Highveld scenery – rolling plains dotted with acacia trees and rocky outcrops. The area’s climate brings warm summers with afternoon thunderstorms and crisp, dry winters that occasionally see frost.
