About Winterton

Winterton is a picturesque town located in the foothills of the Drakensberg mountains in KwaZulu-Natal, approximately 250km northwest of Durban. Situated along the banks of the Little Tugela River at 1,100 meters above sea level, this rural settlement serves as a gateway to the Central Drakensberg region.

The area experiences warm summers and cool winters with occasional frost. Winterton’s landscape is dominated by dramatic mountain vistas, particularly the nearby Cathedral Peak.
