About Nottingham Road

Nottingham Road is a small village located in KwaZulu-Natal‘s Midlands, approximately 120km northwest of Durban. Situated at an elevation of 1,500 metres on the Drakensberg foothills, this charming stopover along the N3 highway offers cool mountain air and panoramic views of rolling green hills. The area forms part of the famous Midlands Meander route, known for its craft producers, artists and country-style hospitality.

Surrounded by trout dams, pine plantations and dairy farms, Nottingham Road enjoys a temperate climate with misty mornings and crisp evenings. The village’s position between Pietermaritzburg and the Drakensberg makes it an ideal base for exploring the region’s natural beauty. The area’s rich red soil and abundant water sources support lush vegetation and productive farmland.
