About Montagu

Montagu is a charming town located in the Western Cape‘s Breede River Valley, approximately 180km east of Cape Town. Situated between the Langeberg and Outeniqua mountain ranges, this historic spa town is renowned for its thermal springs and beautiful Cape Dutch architecture.

The town lies along the famous Route 62, surrounded by fruit orchards, vineyards and dramatic rock formations. Montagu’s position at the foot of the Langeberg mountains makes it a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, with numerous hiking trails and the spectacular Cogmanskloof Pass providing breathtaking views of the valley below.
