About Wilderness

Wilderness is a breathtaking coastal village located along the Garden Route in Western Cape, approximately 15km east of George. Situated between the Indian Ocean and the Outeniqua Mountains, this natural paradise encompasses a unique system of lakes, rivers, wetlands and golden beaches.

The area enjoys a mild coastal climate with warm summers and temperate winters. Wilderness’s landscape features the Serpentine lakes, the Touw River estuary, and lush indigenous forests that extend right down to the shoreline. The village forms part of the Garden Route National Park, offering exceptional biodiversity and outdoor recreation opportunities.
