Rawsonville is located in the Western Cape‘s Breede River Valley, approximately 90km northeast of Cape Town. This charming wine-growing town sits at the foot of the dramatic Slanghoek Mountains, surrounded by lush vineyards and fruit orchards that thrive in the region’s Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and cool, wet winters.

Established in 1859, Rawsonville developed as an agricultural centre along the Breede River. The town’s unique position between towering mountain ranges creates a spectacular backdrop for its vineyards, with the Slanghoek and Du Toitskloof mountains framing the valley. Rawsonville’s location along the R101 route makes it easily accessible while maintaining its peaceful rural character amidst one of South Africa’s most productive wine regions.
