Robertson is located in the Western Cape‘s Breede River Valley, approximately 160km east of Cape Town. This picturesque town sits along the banks of the Breede River, surrounded by dramatic mountain ranges and lush vineyards that thrive in the region’s Mediterranean climate with hot summers and cool winters.

Founded in 1853, Robertson is renowned for its well-preserved Victorian and Edwardian architecture, with many original buildings constructed from local sandstone. The landscape combines working wine farms with fruit orchards and thoroughbred horse studs, all benefiting from the fertile river valley. Robertson’s position along Route 62 makes it easily accessible while maintaining its small-town charm in the heart of South Africa’s wine country.
