About Simon’s Town
Simon’s Town is located on the eastern side of the Cape Peninsula in the Western Cape, approximately 35km south of Cape Town. This historic naval town sits nicely between steep mountains and the sheltered waters of False Bay, offering spectacular ocean views and a mild Mediterranean climate with cool sea breezes.
Founded in 1741 as a winter anchorage, Simon’s Town has served as a naval base for over 200 years. The landscape combines Victorian architecture with dramatic coastal scenery, including the famous Boulders Beach penguin colony. Simon’s Town’s position along the M4 makes it easily accessible while maintaining its old-world maritime charm at the foot of the Table Mountain range.
