About Us
Santos Express Train Lodge, which opened in 1994, is a unique place to stay on the beautiful Santos Beach in Mossel Bay. Our resort keeps the golden age of luxury rail travel alive by turning authentic train compartments into delightful seaside lodgings. We won the Sanlam Top Destination Award for combining transit history with contemporary luxury. This attracts travellers and even local celebrities looking for a distinctive seaside getaway.
Santos Express Cabins
Pick your perfect getaway from our selection of unique cabins, each with beautiful views of the sea and the calming sounds of the Indian Ocean. The Royal Train Suites include king-size mattresses, private decks, and high-end amenities. The Honeymoon Caboose is a cosy place for couples to stay. We provide multiple, twin, and single compartments with shared coach amenities for parties and those travelling alone. Every stay comes with nice extras like breakfast, fast Wi-Fi, and direct access to the beach.
Eating and relaxing
At our Fork & Train Restaurant, you can enjoy fresh seafood and local delicacies. You can also relax at one of our lively bars, such as the Sushi Bar, Pizza Deck or Palm Beach Bar on the beach, which has great views of the harbour. The Stage Coach Theatre gives a cultural touch to evenings by combining live acts with food.
Things to do and places to stay
Santos Express is more than just a place to stay; it’s also a place to have events, including weddings with mountains in the background and business meetings in our historic carriages. School groups like to have their own plans for visiting Mossel Bay’s museums, wildlife, and adventure activities. Our improved amenities make sure you’re comfortable, while the sound of the waves and the ocean breeze make sure you relax.
A Stay That Is Different
The Santos Express Train Lodge is an extraordinary coastal getaway, whether you’re looking for romance, adventure, or a trip down memory lane. It’s where the charm of rail heritage meets the beauty of Santos Beach.
