About Us
Randrivier Guesthouse is a historic homestead in South Africa’s beautiful Robertson Wine Valley that welcomes guests with open arms. Fanus and Jeanette Bruwer own and run the guesthouse. The Bruwer family has owned it for eight generations, since 1730. The farm has a long history that includes making wine, producing cattle, and a wonderfully maintained copper pot still from 1855 that is one of the biggest stills still in service. The guesthouse is a calm place to get away from it all in the countryside. It combines old-world charm with contemporary amenities.
Staying at Randrivier Guesthouse
Our guesthouse has a thatched roof and rooms that are each designed in a distinctive way, with historical relics that give the place a warm, domestic feel. Pick from lovely rooms like the Alpine Room, Bonheur Room, or Clementine Room, all made for relaxing. The Eureka Room has a kitchen, a lounge, and a private terrace with a built-in braai for those who want to cook for themselves. Our rooms are comfortable and have character, so they can meet the requirements of everybody, whether you’re travelling alone, with a partner, or in a small group.
Eating and Relaxing
Our friendly dining room is a great place to start your day with a tasty breakfast that will have you ready to explore the Robertson Wine Valley. We don’t have a restaurant on the property, but our hosts are happy to suggest area vineyards and restaurants that are known for their food and wine pairings. After a day of fun, relax in our peaceful gardens or enjoy the calm environment of the farm.
Amenities and Services
Guests may enjoy the guesthouse’s beautiful grounds, fishing in the farm dam, and learning about how the farm works on a daily basis. While you’re here, you may visit the Bruwer family’s operating farms, which include vineyards, orchards, and historical sites. Please note that visitors must make arrangements ahead of time to visit the farm, and they do so at their own risk.
