Whalesong Bed & Breakfast is located in the heart of St Lucia, South Africa. It was started by people who wanted to combine eco-friendly hospitality with friendly, individualised service. Our B&B, which was started by hosts Donsie and Candice, has grown into a peaceful getaway on the Elephant Coast. It is known for being environmentally friendly and for being close to the beautiful nature around it. Over the years, we’ve been happy to provide a place where guests can relax and travel in a way that doesn’t harm the environment.

Our five air-conditioned rooms all have en-suite bathrooms and a “classic with a twist” style that mixes contemporary comfort with careful design. Solar panel energy systems make sure that you always have electricity, so you can relax while you’re there.

Sea Spray: Our deluxe pool-view room, designed for couples and has a king-size bed and an own balcony that looks out over the garden.
Marlin Family Unit: Big and flexible, with twin and king bedrooms and direct access to the pool, making it great for families.
Superior Rooms: Nice double rooms with views of the garden that are perfect for single travellers or couples who want to rest in peace.
Triple Room: A versatile choice with three single beds, good for groups or long stays.

Special Features

All rooms come with free coffee trays, free Wi-Fi, and blackout curtains to help you sleep better. The property’s beautiful garden and lapa area are perfect for guests to enjoy sundowners in the South African way.

Whalesong is a short walk from restaurants and adventure outfitters and lies between Lake St Lucia and the Indian Ocean. Our dedication to sustainability goes beyond solar electricity. We also support local conservation efforts and try to use as little single-use plastics as possible on the site.
