About Sinqumeni

Sinqumeni is located in the Eastern Cape province, approximately 40km northwest of East London. This rural Xhosa village sits amidst the rolling hills and grasslands typical of the region’s coastal hinterland, at an elevation of about 600 metres above sea level. The area enjoys a temperate climate with warm summers and mild winters.

As a traditional Xhosa community, Sinqumeni offers visitors an authentic glimpse into rural Eastern Cape life. The landscape features scattered homesteads with traditional rondavels, grazing livestock and cultivated fields, all set against a backdrop of untouched natural beauty. Sinqumeni’s location along secondary roads maintains its peaceful, off-the-beaten-path character while being accessible from East London.
